Our Philosophy
With a relationship spanning 30,000 years, dogs have long played an instrumental role in our species survival. Whether protecting our herds or helping us hunt to even fighting alongside us in wars, their loyalty and utility throughout history has cemented their place as "Man's best friend" and even as humanity and technology has advanced over the centuries, in many cases Dogs remain our faithful partners in many areas of human endeavor. As our societies has advanced so to have the roles that our dogs play in our life while some dogs still live working lives in various roles the expectation for most pets is cooperative companionship.
Our StoryÂ
With almost 30 years’ experience training and preparing Military Working Dog (MWD) teams to operate in some of the world’s most unforgiving environments performing everything from explosive detection to subject apprehension, our trainers specialize in empowering the human side of the leash with the understanding and communication skills required to be successful regardless of environment or distractions. In 2019 MilSpecK9 was created with the intention of empowering pet owners with the knowledge and ability to comprehensively optimize their relationship with their dog and effectively reach their individual training goals.
Our Goal
To achieve this goal, MilSpecK9 deviates from conventional training approaches that emphasize control through obedience and instead prioritize cultivating a productive state of mind and cooperative relationship building which ultimately results in an emotionally balanced dog who is capable of navigating challenges and is coachable when situations outside their experience arise.

BOARD AND TRAIN
Basic obedience is taught to the same baseline proficiency as a Military Working Dog, which includes a 3-minute implied stay and recall from at least 50 feet.
